PLEASE NOTE THAT AS PER AEJMC, STUDENT MEMBERS CANNOT SIGN THIS PETITION.

The Communicating Science, Health, Environment and Risk Interest Group - ComSHER (formerly the Science Communication Interest Group - SCIGroup) is petitioning AEJMC to become a full Division.

The decision to become a Division is based on:

1) our move to explicitly welcome research and membership from researchers and teachers who focus on health, risk and environmental topics;

2) increased paper submissions and membership;

3) burgeoning interest within AEJMC in science and health research and teaching; and

4) a recurring need for more panels and sessions than what is allotted to an interest group.

In order to successfully petition for Division status, we need the support of 200+ registered members of AEJMC. That support can be demonstrated by collecting "signatures" online.

We are collecting those signatures here. We are shooting for at least 250. (That was a successful strategy for Communication Technology, which was the latest interest group to become a division.)

You can add your support regardless of whether you are a current member of this interest group, you just need to be a member of AEJMC.
